Tales from Sargosa: The Shanty Isle
I love studying the history of piracy and I love tabletop RPGs. Tales from Sargosa: The Shanty Isle is an attempt to combine these two loves. It is an attempt to give players the chance to inhabit a setting where they can interact with pirates of the golden age of sail in a fantasy landscape, encountering both the stark realities of Caribbean pirates in the 18th and early 19th centuries and the pop-culture tropey images that we have of them today. It is a tool set, for intrepid adventurers into the story space, to create their own fantasy pirate stories, whether they be swashbuckling high seas adventures or gritty one-chapter character studies.
