The Journey to Confidence
Coronavirus has presented a challenge to us all. With less attention and time on a calendar full of to-dos, we had an opportunity, for once in our fast paced lives, to take a moment for ourselves. “The Journey to Confidence” is a personal exploration of self-love, connection, and the ability to take a breather in the midst of a global pandemic. Every week I dive into one of the 8 categories of wellness; physical, financial, spiritual, occupation, environmental, emotional, social and intellectual. After interviewing professionals in their field, I implemented their advice though exercises related to nourishing my well being. This 12 week journey has proven that even in a digital world, vulnerability is the key to finding a better version of yourself.
ARTIST STATEMENT: Kalei Winfield is a freelance graphic designer from New Jersey who centers feminism and positive mental health at the core of her projects. She specializes in print material, web design, motion graphics and social media management. Her experience as a woman has helped shape her understanding on body positivity, learning disorders and female empowerment. In an ever growing digital world, Kalei uses authenticity and vulnerability to connect to her audience on taboo topics.
