ARTIST STATEMENT: Peter Kuli is a 21-year-old musician based in Burlington, Vermont. After swapping piano lessons for a copy of Ableton Live and a Twitter account, Peter has been able to make a name for himself without leaving his bedroom. Peter tries to make his music as versatile as possible, the result of being influenced by the sounds of hip-hop, electronic, pop, punk, alternative, and ambient music. He focuses more on embracing his own curiosity rather than thinking within the bounds of genre. With over 30 million streams on Spotify and support from artists like 100 gecs, Surfaces, and Brasstracks, it’s safe to say that this curiosity has paid off.
Peter’s “try everything” mentality has gotten the attention of The New York Times, The Boston Globe, NPR and Paper Magazine. From his viral hit “ok boomer,” to production work with artists like Left at London and Zelooperz, Peter is showing no signs of slowing down, and he’s planning on expanding his range even further.
PROFESSIONAL DIRECTION/CAREER ASPIRATION: After graduation, I plan on moving to Chicago, where I can surround myself with my peers in a robust music scene. I may venture into the corporate world, editing podcasts and other audio content for media outlets. I believe I have set myself up for success to take my work to a larger city, and hopefully a larger stage.
